Mechanical Designer
Description
Assignment Description
We are looking for a capable and committed Mechanical Designer to join a team focused on the development, design, and support of production equipment within a Tools and Fixture Design function. The position primarily involves creating assembly fixtures used in different workshop settings, while also allowing for involvement in additional production areas such as logistics, press, body, and paint.
The team consists of around ten designers with varying levels of experience, contributing to a cooperative environment where knowledge sharing and continuous learning are encouraged. Work is carried out using Catia V5 alongside the PLM system Enovia. At the start of the assignment, an onsite presence exceeding 50% is expected to ensure a smooth introduction to both tasks and team. As independence in the role increases, there will be an opportunity for more flexibility regarding remote work.
Responsibilities include developing mechanical solutions for production equipment, with a main focus on assembly fixtures, as well as supporting workshop teams in refining and improving existing solutions. The role also involves contributing to design work across several production areas, collaborating with engineering teams and other stakeholders to ensure practical and efficient outcomes, managing design activities within Catia V5 and Enovia, and participating in design reviews and continuous improvement efforts. The work requires a structured and solution-oriented approach, strong technical and analytical capability, and the ability to take initiative. Clear communication, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively are important aspects of the role.
Required Qualifications:
- Strong command of English in both verbal and written communication
- Capability to develop designs for production equipment or tooling/fixtures
- Practical experience in mechanical design, ideally in a manufacturing or production environment
- Good ability to collaborate and contribute effectively within a team
- Knowledge of PLM systems, with Enovia being an advantage
- Hands-on familiarity with Catia V5
It is considered an advantage if you have a background in the automotive or heavy industry sector, experience deg fixtures for assembly lines, knowledge of manufacturing production processes, or prior work in cross-functional industrial environments.
