Assignment Description

We are seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer focused on complaint and nonconformance management within automotive manufacturing. The role is operational and reactive, safeguarding production and customers through structured handling of supplier quality issues.

The role requires a structured and detail-oriented professional who communicates clearly, is comfortable challenging suppliers, and works effectively under pressure during urgent quality situations. Frequent travel to Northern Italy and Izmir, Turkey is required. The assignment starts onsite in Izmir and transitions to remote thereafter.

Performance is measured by timely and effective complaint resolution, high-quality supplier corrective actions, reduced recurrence of similar nonconformances, and stable supplier quality without impact on production or customers.

Main Responsibilities

You will manage supplier complaints for incoming materials and components, drive nonconformance processes, ensure immediate containment actions, and follow up corrective measures to verify effectiveness. Responsibilities include reviewing and approving 8D reports, verifying root cause analysis, and confirming corrective and preventive actions in line with IATF 16949, customer-specific requirements, and internal procedures. You are authorized to require corrective actions, approve or reject supplier responses, and escalate cases when actions are insufficient or delayed. You will document quality cases, communicate status internally, and collaborate with production, incoming inspection, customer quality, purchasing, and external suppliers. The assignment excludes supplier development, APQP, PPAP, new supplier or product introductions, and proactive improvement beyond identified nonconformances.

Mandatory Qualifications:

  • Technical education or equivalent professional experience
  • Experience in quality-related roles within automotive or manufacturing industry
  • Hands-on experience in complaint handling and nonconformance management
  • Strong knowledge of 8D methodology and root cause analysis
  • Basic understanding of IATF 16949 and customer-specific requirements
  • Experience working with quality management and case management systems
  • Fluency in English, written and spoken
  • Availability for frequent travel to Northern Italy and Izmir, Turkey

It is considered meritorious if you have additional language skills beyond English.
