We are looking for a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to help build and lead a strong SRE practice in a modern, cloud-native Azure environment. The role plays a key part in an ongoing modernization journey, ensuring reliable, scalable and well-operated digital services.

You will work closely with development and platform teams to embed SRE principles across the development lifecycle and take shared ownership of the operational health of Azure workloads. Responsibilities include defining monitoring and incident management strategies, driving automation, leading incident response, and continuously improving reliability and observability. You will also mentor teams and help establish a sustainable operating model aligned with business and technical goals.

Qualifications:

  • You have at least five years of work experience in the information technology field.
  • You have proven experience with Site Reliability Engineering, where you’ve been part of a reliability team, providing modern and state-of-the art ops together with development teams.
  • You have deep knowledge of Azure cloud, its components and how to monitor, operate and troubleshoot workloads, such as Azure functions, Azure container apps, Azure app services, SQL Azure, Cosmos DB among others.
  • You have a good understanding of how databases work, including SQL and NoSQL. You’ve dealt with backups and restoring operations when things have gone bad.
  • You have proficiency in software development, to a degree that you can automate repetitive manual tasks, using C#, Node, Python or any suitable language.
  • You have practical experience in Azure DevOps, and you know your git branching and code review processes.
  • You have a good understanding of networking, especially virtual networks in Azure.
  • You have practical knowledge of incident and problem management.

Meriting:

  • Azure certification(s)
  • Understanding of distributed systems, and how microservices operate
  • Kubernetes (AKS, and OpenShift)
  • we still have some on-prem stuff as well. This won’t be your focus.
  • Familiarity with ITSM tools like ServiceNow

You are a collaborative team player with experience from large organizations, where you have successfully driven positive change. You communicate clearly and confidently, building trust and alignment with a wide range of stakeholders. You are curious and forward-thinking, with the ability to define what “good” looks like for an SRE practice and help shape how it should operate together with the wider development organization. You are comfortable setting a clear target state and actively contributing to making it a reality. At your core, you are a problem solver who enjoys complex challenges and approaches them in a calm, structured, and methodical way.
