Assignment Description
We are seeking a Data Engineer with a strong focus on data warehousing and data modeling to support analytical, regulatory, and business needs within a banking environment. In this assignment, you will design, develop, and maintain curated data structures and analytical models in close collaboration with data engineers, analysts, technical leads, and stakeholders within finance, risk, and compliance. The role involves translating business requirements into scalable and governed data models, contributing to architectural discussions, and building reliable transformation pipelines on a cloud-based data platform. You are expected to participate actively in solution design, code reviews, and continuous improvement, while applying DevOps practices to ensure high-quality, maintainable data solutions.
Required Qualifications
Core requirements:
- Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions
- Experience working in cross-functional, agile delivery teams
- Strong SQL skills and ability to work with complex data structures
- Experience building data solutions on cloud-based platforms such as AWS
- Understanding of banking domain data, preferably within finance, risk, or compliance
- Experience in data warehousing and data modeling
Highly Valued Technical Experience:
- Previous experience from banking or financial services
- Experience working with CI/CD pipelines, preferably with GitHub Actions
- Understanding of access management and network infrastructure in cloud environments
- Experience using transformation tools such as dbt
- Experience with orchestration frameworks, for example Apache Airflow
- Experience working with modern table formats, such as Apache Iceberg
- Experience using infrastructure as code tools, for example Terraform
- Hands-on experience with established data modeling methodologies, such as dimensional modeling and data marts
It is considered meritorious if you have experience with legacy data warehouse technologies or familiarity with scaled agile frameworks or similar ways of working.
