Job Description
We are looking for someone to redesign our website to improve efficiency, layout, and speed, as well as improving the user interface on mobile. Wordpress experience, either extensive classroom or real world, is required. Experience with Yoast and Real Works Labs plugins is a plus. We are not looking for an ad agency, or long term employment, or SEO assistance. We would expect the job to be completed within a month, and from there we would like to continue employment on an as-needed basis (1-2 hours per week) to implement updates (we will provide content to you). We are located in Carnesville, GA and work is remote (you work from your home/office). We'd prefer an in-person meeting to discuss qualifications and for a once a week update. If you feel you're a good fit but live farther away, we can discuss the possibility of virtual meetings.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain WordPress websites, ensuring they are visually appealing, responsive, and user-centric.
- Customize themes and plugins to enhance website functionality and aesthetic appeal.
- Conduct thorough testing—including unit testing—and troubleshoot issues across various browsers and devices.
- Ensure websites are secure by following best practices in system architecture, DevOps strategies, and security protocols.
Requirements
- Proven experience developing websites with WordPress, including theme customization and plugin integration.
- Some understanding of SEO principles and responsive web design standards for optimal performance across devices.
