Job summary

Applications are invited for Senior Clinical Fellow posts in Haematology to join the dynamic and expanding team at University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

There are various posts available, structured as follows:

*Two Lymphoma Fellows

*One Myeloid Fellow

*One Haemostasis & Thrombosis Fellow

We encourage applications from Senior Registrars, with post-CCT candidates particularly welcome. Preference will be given to candidates who have passed FRCPath examinations or are at an advanced stage of specialty training to help them become consultants. We also support residents who want to become consultant through portfolio pathway ( formerly known as CESR pathway )/

Fellows might be expected to cross cover between teams if required, with the expectation to cross cover all UHB sites as required by the needs of the service.

Main duties of the job

Each fellow will be embedded within a disease-specific team as lymphoma, myeloid, haemostsis and thrombosis fellow.

There will be structured exposure to both inpatient and outpatient settings to support advanced clinical skill development.

The successful candidates will be part of the Trust-wide Haematology Programme, working across multiple sites.

*Inpatient haematology services are primarily based at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, with additional activity across Heartlands, Good Hope and Solihul sites.

*Fellows will rotate across sites to support service delivery and maximise educational opportunities

*Participation in disease-specific clinics and inpatient care, depending on allocated fellowship track

*Close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, patient-centred care

  • Full registration with the GMC with licence to practice.
  • Evidence of achievement of Foundation competencies in line with GMC standards/Good Medical Practice
  • Eligibility to live and work in the UK
  • Medical Degree from a recognised University

Experience

  • Experience in the management of patients with haematological malignancies and general haematology.
  • Knowledge of the processes and function of clinical governance.
  • Ability to work in a team.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrable skills in written and spoken English and ability to communicate effectively and appropriately with patients, carers and other health professionals.
