An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic candidate to join the Information Governance team in the role of Information Governance Officer.
The Information Governance Officer will work collaboratively within the Information Governance team to support the Trust’s aims and objectives in relation to compliance with key legislation such as the UK General Data Protection Regulation and Data Protection Act, as well as the Data Security and Protection Toolkit and information risk management framework.
The successful candidate will have prior knowledge/experience of governance, risk or information management within the public sector, ideally within a health and care setting. You will have experience of responding to challenging queries using research and negotiation skills, and relaying complex information in an easily understandable manner.
We are especially looking for someone who is inquisitive, detail-oriented and able to demonstrate an ability to work proactively, without supervision and under their own initiative.

Base Location: Hybrid working required across all sites.

To provide support to the Information Governance department in relation to information risk management and assurance
To assist in ensuring compliance with the annual Data Security and Protection Toolkit submission, including taking the lead on audit requirements as delegated
To work with key stakeholders across the Trust to ensure that the required information risk assurance work is undertaken in line with legal and regulatory requirements
To ensure staff and stakeholders are aware of and carrying out their responsibilities under the UK and Data Protection Act
To assist patients and members of the public with exercising their rights, including processing requests for access to information
To substantially contribute to information related information governance incident investigations
UHD are investing, developing and transforming Trust services in line with the New Hospital Programme. As part of this, some services may move site this year or next, either temporarily or permanently. Recruiting Managers will be happy to answer any service-specific questions at interview.
If a role or service relocates as part of a planned move, excess mileage will not be reimbursed. Travel from home to the new work base will be classed as a normal commute. Any other changes will be managed under Trust or national terms and conditions.
