Description

Clarke Transportare seeking a Class 1 Driver to join our team.

  • Class 1 PM Shift 14:45 to 22:45
  • Monday to Thursday & 14:30 to 22:30 Fridays
  • Willing to work Sat / Sun on a rota system

This large-scale project will be based In Daventry, Northamptonshire in partnership with Cummins Ltd. You will be required to work Monday to Friday and you will be expected to adhere to strict delivery schedules and comply with compliance and health & safety procedures.

The successful applicant will earn £20.06 per hour (paid weekly) on an 8 hour shift Monday to Friday, and you will be entitled to 28 days holiday per year (inclusive of all bank holidays).

Role Requirements

  • Comply with compliance and health & safety procedures.
  • HGV Category C+E Driver License allowing you to drive in the UK.
  • DCPC Training up to date.
  • Relevant Medical up to date.
  • Good Spoken English to be able to communicate with customers with other colleagues.

Role Responsibilities

Key Attributes of a Class 1 Driver

  • Previous heavy plant or machinery experience would be beneficial but is not essential.
  • Flexibility is required, as the role involves driving both Class 1 and Class 2 vehicles (primarily Class 2).
  • The position involves transporting parts or finished products between the warehouse and the manufacturing plant, located approximately two miles apart.
  • The role will provide absence cover across shift patterns and may occasionally require participation in double-man vehicle crews where operationally required.
  • Willingness to participate in a weekend rota is essential.

Operational Duties

  • Operate company vehicles in full compliance with Road Traffic Legislation and the Highway Code.
  • Maintain the assigned vehicle in a clean, safe, and serviceable condition at all times.
  • Ensure all Daily Vehicle Checks are completed accurately and any defects are reported immediately in line with company procedures.
  • Use all safety equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE) as required. The company operates a zero-tolerance approach to health and safety breaches.
  • Comply with all relevant legislation, company policies, and operational procedures at all times.
  • Adhere fully to company rules and behavioural standards.
