Value stream manager
Description
Manages day-to-day operations, improves production efficiency, reduces costs, ensures quality and quantity, and completes orders safely.
Your new role:
Champion and sustain an All In on Safety culture across the facility, with particular focus on Materials operations.
Collaborate closely with Quality partners to continually improve product quality, including leading deep-dive investigations and structured problem-solving activities.
Work effectively across multiple functions EH&S, Quality, Supply Chain, Finance, Facilities, Maintenance, and others to drive alignment and operational excellence.
Partner with Finance to ensure delivery plans are achievable, expenditures are controlled, and costs remain aligned with operational requirements.
Manage the long-term training requirements for the value stream to effectively meet operational output needs, partnering with Engineering, Supply Chain, and Finance to ensure regular review.
Manage value stream recoveries, ensuring timely and efficient restoration of performance.
Maintain clear, timely, and consistent communication with diverse stakeholders across the organization.
Lead the adoption of lean manufacturing methodologies to strengthen a positive, high-performance continuous improvement culture.
Consistently achieve monthly Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) with the goal of regularly exceeding operational targets.
Implement, execute, and sustain productivity improvement initiatives within Materials.
Manage and develop a team operating across a three-shift pattern, ensuring effective capacity planning, skills flexibility, and team capability growth.
Establish, maintain, and actively follow a Leader Standard of Work (LSW) to drive operational discipline and accountability.
Your ideal background:
Bachelor’s degree in a manufacturing-related field is preferred.
Minimum of 8 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with demonstrated success, including at least 4 years in a Production Manager or equivalent leadership role.
Strong foundation in Lean Manufacturing, with practical experience in areas such as SMED, VRK, Standard Work, and Daily Management systems.
Familiarity with current industrial quality standards and requirements.
Solid understanding of financial concepts as they apply to manufacturing operations.
Experience working with multiple customers and suppliers in a low-volume, high-mix production environment.
Hands-on experience with SAP in a manufacturing setting or a similar enterprise system.
Excellent communication skills, both in person and through digital channels.
Ability to challenge constructively, influence effectively, and prioritize the most critical outputs for the facility.
Experience working within a unionized environment.
