This is a pivotal role at the earliest stage of a strategic initiative to transform a heavily manual, document-led RFP process into a streamlined, automated, and scalable solution.
You will be responsible for exploring technology options, validating architectural pathways, and setting the engineering direction—while also contributing hands‑on to early prototypes.
About the Challenge
Today’s RFP workflow relies on disconnected documents and spreadsheets, resulting in:
- High administrative load
- Repetitive manual content creation
- No workflow control, visibility, or tracking
- Minimal integration with existing systems
- A fragmented process spanning creation, distribution, evaluation, selection, and onboarding into procurement platforms
- This role will help define what the next‑generation solution looks like.
What You’ll Be Working On
- Discovery & Solution Definition
- Map current RFP workflows and pinpoint automation opportunities
- Explore and compare solution approaches (SaaS, custom build, hybrid options)
- Assess integration needs and technical viability
- Build prototypes or proof‑of‑concepts to validate direction
- Recommend a scalable architecture
- Define the technical roadmap, backlog, and early design artefacts
Early Execution
- Contribute hands‑on engineering as prototypes evolve
- Help design and implement automation flows and system integrations
- Apply high standards of engineering quality, governance, and documentation
- Partner closely with product, architecture, and globally distributed engineering teams
What You’ll Bring
Solid software engineering experience across applications and services
Strong knowledge of:
- API integrations
- Workflow and automation patterns
- AI‑powered document processing (generation, extraction, ingestion)
- Microservices (GCP experience helpful but not required)
Ability to:
- Lead structured technical discovery efforts
- Evaluate solution pathways and trade‑offs (SaaS vs custom build)
- Build prototypes and validate technical options
- Shape technical strategy, backlog, and early architecture
- experience working with procurement/SAP systems is beneficial but not essential
- Comfortable collaborating with distributed teams across multiple time zones
