Junior Executive - Tax
Description
Responsibilities:
- Assisting on tax advisory projects for local and international clients. The projects include but are not limited to international tax optimisation and structuring, asset protection, tax advice for trusts and foundations, investment funds, private clients, estate planning, taxation of companies, M&A, transfer, or IP.
- Advising clients on the impact of changes to domestic legislation and how this may impact their business.
- Assisting the team with a variety of other tax related cases.
- Assisting with the preparation of tax refund forms and shareholders registration forms.
- Liaising with the Inland Revenue Department and International Tax Unit on behalf of clients.
- Assisting in the preparation of articles, newsletters, and other marketing materials.
- Maintaining information, files, and records to ensure that the documentation is available and that it complies with the established policies and regulatory guidelines.
- Filing and records retention.
What are we looking for?
Qualifications:
- Degree in accountancy, law, or in a similar field, preferably with specialization in taxation.
Experience:
- At least 1 year experience within a tax centric environment.
Key Requirements:
- Further specialisation in tax will be considered an asset (Masters in Tax, ADIT, MIT Tax Specialisation)
- Knowledge of Maltese tax legislation (preference will be given to candidates with experience in and knowledge of income tax)
- Experience in preparing and submitting tax returns and tax refund applications would be highly desirable.
- Conversant with standard software packages (MS)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to work well within a team and possess strong interpersonal skills.
