Job Responsibilities
Project Lifecycle Management:
Lead project initiation, define objectives, scope, budget, and delivery standards, and create the Project Charter.
Plan the overall project process (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, or Hybrid models), break down work packages (WBS), and allocate resources.
Monitor project execution, ensure progress aligns with the plan, address major deviations, and adjust strategies.
Team Management and Collaboration:
Lead cross-functional teams (e.g., development, testing, design) by clarifying roles and responsibilities, and motivate members for efficient collaboration.
Resolve team conflicts, optimize communication
mechanisms, and improve overall execution efficiency.
Risk Management and Decision-Making:
Identify, assess, and prioritize project risks, develop
contingency plans, and lead issue resolution.
Make decisions on key milestones (e.g., requirement changes,
technology selection), balancing quality, cost, and time.
Resource and Budget Control
Develop project budgets, monitor actual expenditures, and control cost overruns.
Coordinate human resources, software/hardware resources,
and third-party vendors to ensure proper resource allocation.
Quality and Delivery Management:
Define acceptance criteria for deliverables, organize stage reviews (e.g., requirement reviews, UAT testing).
Ensure final deliverables meet customer or business objectives, and address any issues until closure.
Stakeholder Communication and Reporting:
Regularly report project progress to senior management and clients, manage stakeholder expectations, and gain support.
Coordinate client requirement changes (CCB process), and ensure contract and SLA compliance.
Job Qualifications
Educational Background
Bachelor's degree or above, preferably in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Project Management, or related fields.
Experience Requirements
3-5 years of software project management experience, with independent responsibility for medium to large projects (e.g., complex system development, cross-team collaboration). Proficient in the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and practical experience with Agile development (Scrum/Kanban) or Waterfall models.
Core Skills
Methodology and Tools: Proficient in project management
tools (Jira, Confluence, MS Project) and collaboration
platforms (Slack, Teams).
Familiar with requirements management (e.g., user story
maps), Gantt charts, burndown charts, and other planning
methods.
Technical Understanding: Familiar with software development
technologies (e.g., front-end and back-end architectures,
databases, DevOps toolchains) and able to communicate
effectively with technical teams.
Business Thinking: Ability to perform cost-benefit analysis and
align project goals with company strategy.
Soft Skills
Leadership: Ability to unite teams, drive decision-making, andtake ultimate responsibility.
Negotiation and Influence: Balance client, team, and companyinterests to secure resource support.
Stress Resistance: Adapt to high-intensity work and stay goal- oriented amidst uncertainty.
Certifications and Additional Qualifications
Required Certifications: PMP (Project Management Professional), CSM (Certified Scrum Master), or SAFe
certification.
Preferred: Industry experience (e.g., finance, healthcare, e- commerce, etc.) in software projects.
Fluent in English (international projects require cross-cultural
communication skills).
