E-bike Mechanic (French/ English)
Description
We are recruiting for a skilled E-Bike Mechanic to join a growing urban mobility team in Paris. You will maintain, diagnose, and repair a fleet of electric bicycles and light electric vehicles, ensuring safe, reliable service for customers. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on technician who enjoys troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
Your Role
- Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and servicing on e-bikes and associated components (motors, batteries, controllers, brakes, drivetrains, suspension).
- Diagnose and repair electrical faults, mechanical issues, and software or connectivity problems using diagnostic tools and technical documentation.
- Assemble and prepare new e-bikes for deployment, including final quality checks and test rides.
- Replace and fit parts (tyres, tubes, brake pads, cables, batteries) and manage stock of common spare parts and consumables.
- Log work completed and fault findings accurately in the maintenance system, including recommendations for recurring issues.
- Collaborate with operations and customer support to prioritise repairs and respond to urgent service requests.
- Advise colleagues and customers on basic e-bike care, safe operation, and battery handling/storage best practices.
- Maintain a clean, safe workshop environment and follow health & safety procedures at all times.
Your Qualifications
- Proven experience as a bicycle mechanic, ideally with specific experience repairing e-bikes or light electric vehicles.
- Good understanding of electric drivetrain components, battery systems, wiring, and basic electronics; able to read wiring diagrams and use multimeters.
- Competence with standard mechanical tools and workshop equipment, and experience with wheel truing, brake adjustment, and gear indexing.
- Fluent in French; good English is an advantage. Communication should be clear and customer-focused.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid right to work in France and willingness to work occasional early starts or weekends as required by operations.
- Relevant vocational qualifications (e.g., cycle mechanic certificate, electrical or mechanical apprenticeship) are desirable but practical experience will be considered.
The Offer
- Permanent full-time contract based in Paris with competitive salary depending on experience.
- Paid training on company-specific e-bike systems and safety procedures.
- Comprehensive benefits package including health coverage contributions and transport allowances.
- Opportunity to work with a sustainable mobility provider and contribute to greener urban transport.
- Supportive, multicultural team environment and clear progression routes within operations and technical roles.
- Modern workshop facilities in Paris, with supplied tools and PPE.
