Engineering Summer School Course Teacher - Cambridge

This Cambridge-based organisation runs international summer study programs for students aged 14–18.

As a Course Teacher, you will help to design, prepare, coordinate and deliver some or all of an academic subject course. These roles are non-residential so you must be able to commute!

**Program Dates

  • Summer 2026**

The full program runs from Sunday 5th July to Saturday 15th August - minimum 2 week commitment as below:

  • Sunday 5th July
  • Saturday 18th July 2026
  • Sunday 19th July
  • Saturday 1st August 2026
  • Sunday 2nd August
  • Saturday 15th August 2026

Lessons usually run Monday-Friday from 9am

  • 1pm

Responsibilities prior to the program start:

  • Delivering session outlines and detailed session plans
  • Deg the overall course schedule and syllabus for course(s) (where applicable)
  • Assisting with design of diagnostic test for students (if required)
  • Adjusting sessions in line with the abilities and experiences of the learners as judged by personal statement and school transcript

Responsibilities during the program:

  • Teaching on an academic course
  • Organising and supervising educational excursions and activities as appropriate to the course
  • Monitoring the behaviour and welfare of all students on the subject course during class times and communicating any issues to the senior leadership team
  • Assisting with the pastoral care of the students, which may involve dealing with any medical emergencies or issues, and keeping the necessary staff and forms up to date
  • Being updated and aware of important policies including safeguarding
  • Supporting the smooth and successful running of the summer programmes at all times

Experience & Qualifications:

  • PhD and/or formal teaching qualification in a subject related area
  • Minimum Masters Level qualification with school or university teaching experience also considered
  • Experience delivering Engineering content to students aged 14+
  • UK Right to Work

Rate:

  • £40 per hour for in-session teaching time
  • A single session can last from 1 hour to 4 hours and multiple sessions (spread over several days) are possible subject to course outlines and availability.

For safeguarding purposes, an Enhanced DBS check is required for all staff and if living overseas a valid police clearance certificate is additionally required. Two professional references will also be required for all staff.
