Senior AI Engineer £700 p/d (Outside IR35) - Hybrid, Central London

A leading Asset Management firm in Central London is seeking a highly technical, delivery-focused AI Engineer to accelerate the build-out of AI automation across critical internal operations.

We're looking for someone who can combine deep engineering ability, strong systems thinking, and the ability to listen, understand, and translate stakeholder needs into reliable AI-powered workflows.

You'll be the first specialist within a new AI & Data function, owning solutions end-to-end and setting engineering standards from day one.

What You'll do:

• Map human-heavy processes and identify automation opportunities.
• Build robust, well-structured AI systems using ChatGPT Enterprise.
• Implement retrieval workflows, decision trees, guardrails, and scalable prompt patterns.
• Develop high-value internal copilots and productivity tools.
• Integrate AI workflows with HR, CRM, and other internal platforms.
• Work closely with stakeholders - listening, probing, and shaping solutions around real needs.

Essential Experience

• Experience automating human-centric processes (approvals, performance workflows, document generation, analytics, etc.).
• Proven experience building AI agents and multi-step automation flows.
• Strong hands-on engineering skills (clean, explainable, well-structured code).
• Expertise using ChatGPT Enterprise for workflow automation.
• Skilled in deg prompts, guardrails, and evaluation logic for reliable outputs.
• Experience building retrieval pipelines (RAG), vector search, or context-aware systems.
• Comfortable integrating AI systems with APIs and internal platforms.
