Project Manager - Payments Controls / Regulatory Risk

£700-£800 P/D inside IR35

Initial 6mth contract (starting in the next 4 weeks including compliance)

Canary Wharf - 3 days per week on site

Are you ready to take ownership of a high-profile regulatory risk and control project that strengthens Payments Controls across a complex global Markets environment? This is an opportunity to lead a critical transformation initiative with visibility across senior leadership, risk partners, and technology teams.

We're looking for a Project Manager who thrives in fast-paced environments, brings structure to complexity, and can influence stakeholders at all levels.

The role:

  • Lead cross-functional working groups across Operations, Technology, and Risk & Control-driving discussions, preparing materials, capturing decisions, and ensuring actions are delivered
  • Create polished communications, packs, and presentations for senior management and regulatory forums
  • Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders, acting as a trusted partner and programme lead
  • Coordinate across Markets Ops, SMB Ops, Technology, Operational Risk Management, Internal Audit and other control partners to ensure alignment and transparency
  • Analyse and document vulnerabilities, business requirements, test cases, closure reports and sustainability plans
  • Partner with risk and control functions to ensure change initiatives reduce operational risk and strengthen the control environment
  • Ensure adherence to programme governance, applying best-practice methods, standards, and delivery processes

Your background:

  • Experience delivering large-scale transformation programmes in a global financial services environment
  • Strong programme management credentials (e.g., PMP, Prince2, Agile, Lean, Six Sigma)
  • Proven ability to lead senior-level working groups and manage complex stakeholder landscapes
  • Exceptional organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
  • Strong analytical, data management, and problem-solving capability
  • Excellent communication skills-able to translate complex issues into clear, compelling narratives
  • Confidence operating with autonomy and exercising sound judgement
