EYFS Phase Lead - Specialist SEN School

Cheshire MPS / UPS + TLR Maternity Cover - May or September Start

We are recruiting on behalf of a specialist SEN school for an EYFS Phase Lead to join their middle leadership team. This is a non-class-based leadership role with responsibility for leading the Early Years phase and managing staff within the department.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced EYFS teacher or current middle leader who is passionate about SEND and wants to play a key role in shaping provision, curriculum and outcomes for pupils with complex needs.

The Role

The successful candidate will:

  • Lead and manage the EYFS phase
  • Line manage teachers within the phase, including appraisals and staff development
  • Monitor quality of teaching, learning and assessment
  • Track pupil progress and ensure high expectations across the phase
  • Support curriculum development and school improvement planning
  • Work closely with SLT and multi-disciplinary teams
  • Support staff to meet the needs of pupils with complex SEND

This is a strategic leadership role and would suit someone looking to move into, or further develop within, middle leadership in a specialist setting.

The School

The school is a specialist provision supporting pupils aged 4-19 with autism and additional learning needs. The school works with a range of professionals including therapists and behaviour specialists to provide highly personalised education and support.

Requirements

Essential:

  • Qualified Teacher Status
  • Experience within EYFS
  • Experience working with pupils with SEND
  • Experience leading or developing curriculum
  • Strong understanding of the EYFS framework

Desirable:

  • SEND qualification
  • Middle leadership qualification (e.g. NPQSL)
  • Leadership experience within a SEND setting
