e-Discovery Manager****PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
- An exciting and rare opportunity to join Addleshaw Goddard's Disputes Team and develop a Technology and E-Discovery Team. The role is instrumental in AG's strategic plans to further develop its offering in e-disclosure and align technology assisted expertise with bespoke legal advice.
- As a Technology and E-Discovery Manager at AG, you will play a pivotal role in managing and delivering e-discovery services across complex disputes and investigations. You will be responsible for overseeing the full lifecycle of e-discovery projects, ensuring the effective use of cutting-edge digital solutions and technology platforms to support our clients' needs. This role requires strong technical expertise, project management skills, and the ability to collaborate with legal teams to deliver high-quality results.
THE TEAM
Within this role you will be collaborating with the Information Legal Technology Team to advise the Disputes Team on how to use on a range of technology tools to drive efficiency in the performance of our legal services.
What to expect in this role
- Working with the Disputes Team to define e-discovery support which is tailor made to case requirements.
- Acting as primary point of contact for all queries regarding document review and digital solutions.
- Building a junior team and delivering technical training and guidance to that team and the wider department.
- Delivering client facing training.
- Keep yourself abreast of industry trends and advancement of e-discovery solutions and reporting such trends to the wider Disputes Team.
- Understanding legal obligations surrounding e-discovery and awareness of the stringent requirements of the courts and regulatory bodies.
your areas of knowledge and expertise
- Comprehensive technical understanding of document review platforms and disclosure process, including detailed understanding of harvesting documents, uploading documents, creating multi-level simultaneous reviews and preparing load files.
- In depth understanding of AI tools (e.g. Brain Space, Technology Assisted Review (TAR), Continuous Active Learning (CAL), etc) and being able to advise on strategic review using such tools and the risks.
- Significant experience in managing teams and providing training.
- Detailed technical knowledge of document review platforms and managing reviews.
- Certification in document review platforms such as Relativity, Nuix or any other similar platforms.
- Extensive experience in providing client facing support as an e-discovery project review manager.
- Detailed understanding of the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM) including awareness of inherent stages of risk in a document review process and extensive experience in developing and implementing quality checks to minimise risks.
- Experience in custom scripting/automation.
