Job Title: Teaching Assistant

  • Primary & SEN

Pay Rate: £91.31

  • £103.62 per day

Location: Birmingham & surrounding areas

Hours: Full-time & Part-time | Term-Time Only Day-to-day, Short-term & Long-term roles available (with potential for permanent positions)

Smart Education is currently recruiting Teaching Assistants to support a range of Primary and SEN schools across Birmingham. With increasing demand, we have a variety of opportunities available to suit those looking for flexible work or longer-term placements.

These roles include 1:1 support, small group interventions and general classroom support, working with pupils with a range of additional needs including ASD, ADHD, SEMH and learning difficulties.

Job requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people within a UK school or similar setting
  • SEN experience
  • Patient, adaptable and proactive approach
  • Ability to support behaviour and engagement
  • Enhanced Child or Child/Adult DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Ability for us to obtain 24 months of recent references

Role responsibilities:

  • Support pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
  • Assist with lesson delivery and classroom activities
  • Support pupils with additional needs to access learning
  • Help manage behaviour and emotional regulation
  • Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment
