Role Overview - EYFS Teaching Assistant

The successful EYFS Teaching Assistant will support children within the EYFS setting, helping to create a safe, engaging and stimulating environment. The EYFS Teaching Assistant will work closely with teachers to support learning through play-based activities.

The EYFS Teaching Assistant will play a key role in supporting early development, ensuring children build confidence, communication skills and a love for learning.

Responsibilities of the EYFS Teaching Assistant

• Supporting children as an EYFS Teaching Assistant in daily activities and routines
• Assisting with EYFS-based learning and play activities
• Encouraging social, emotional and communication development
• Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis where needed
• Maintaining a safe and engaging environment as an EYFS Teaching Assistant

Requirements for the EYFS Teaching Assistant

• Experience working as an EYFS Teaching Assistant or in early years settings
• Understanding of the EYFS framework
• A caring, patient and energetic approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
