Senior QA / Test Automation Engineer - Bern - Contract

We are partnering with a leading, highly regulated Swiss organisation in the insurance sector to recruit a Senior QA / Test Automation Engineer on a permanent basis. This is a confidential search on behalf of the client.

The Role

You will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of complex, mission-critical applications. Your work will cover functional, integration, and automated testing, collaborating closely with business, development, and operations teams.

Key focus areas include:

• Recent, hands-on experience in Swiss insurance projects
• Analysis and validation of business processes, data flows, and interfaces
• Design, execution, and documentation of test cases and defects in line with regulatory standards
• Automation using modern frameworks, scripting, and CI/CD pipelines
• Active contribution in Agile environments (Scrum / Kanban / SAFe)

Ideal background and experience:

• 5+ years experience in QA / Test Automation within insurance, banking, or other highly regulated sectors, ideally Swiss insurance
• Strong SQL and data analysis skills
• Experience with Jira, Xray, Confluence, ALM/Quality Center, Azure DevOps
• Comfortable with scripting and automation (VBA, Shell, Python, Java, C#, or JavaScript/TypeScript)
• Structured, analytical, and detail-oriented with excellent German and English
