Role: User Researcher Rate: £400-450 p/d (Via Umbrella) Location: Fully Remote Duration: To be discussed Contract Role- Inside IR35 Start: ASAP
We are looking for a User Researcher with strong Government Digital Service (GDS) experience to help design and improve user-centred digital services. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure services meet user needs and comply with GDS standards.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a User Researcher within GDS or UK public sector projects (Recent)
- Strong knowledge of the GDS Service Standard and service assessments
- Experience running usability testing, interviews, surveys, and workshops
- Ability to communicate insights clearly to varied audiences
- Experience working in agile, multidisciplinary teams
Responsibilities:
- Plan and conduct user research across the service lifecycle (discovery, alpha, beta, live)
- Use a range of qualitative and quantitative research methods
- Translate research findings into clear, actionable insights
- Collaborate with designers, product managers, developers, and stakeholders
- Ensure research aligns with GDS Service Standard and best practice
- Support teams in making evidence-based, user-centred decisions
