Reed Talent Solutions on behalf of United Utilities are recruiting for a contract Lab Assistant to join their Warrington team.

Job: Lab Assistant

Hours- 37 per week

Contract Length: 5 month rolling

Hours- Monday to Saturday (5 shifts per week on a roster basis (occasional weekend work needed)

Pay: £13.61 per hour paid weekly.

Job Purpose

A Proficient laboratory assistant working within the laboratory production environment, contributing towards the day-to-day delivery of analytical outputs. Operating within a tightly regulated Quality System, whilst satisfying the requirements of customers and regulators undertaking sample preparation and straightforward analytical techniques.

Accountabilities

Operating within a team of 12 to 35 with no budget control or direct reports.

Undertaking sample preparation prior to analysis and contributing to straightforward analytical techniques and analysis.

In Sample Reception receives registers and distributes samples to analytical teams and undertakes some simple preparation and scheduling activities

Working across a variety of teams (Analytical and Sample Reception)

Working to a defined Quality system whilst adhering to tight deadlines with varying sample volumes and complying with the needs of the customer and changing regulatory standards

Operating within a team environment and supporting activities according to best practice procedures as detailed in the Quality System.

Assist in the maintenance of equipment used to undertake preparation and straightforward analysis tasks.

Maintenance of own knowledge in line with best practice and changing regulatory standards including Continuing Professional Development.

Straightforward technical activities to facilitate learning and development.

Experience/Education:

Minimum A Level in either OR Biology, Chemistry or Scientific qualification.

6 months plus Lab experience
