Salary: Grade 3 £25,804- £27,319 per annum
Full time: 35 hours per week
Fixed Term: 9 months
Unfortunately, this role is not eligible for visa sponsorship in line with Home Office requirements. Applicants will therefore be unable to secure a Skilled Worker visa for this role and will require an alternative source of right to work in the UK.

- Student Success Assistant**
The University of West of Scotland are recruiting for a Student Success Assistant on a fixed term basis to join the Student Success team.
The Student Success Team is responsible for proactively engaging with students to support retention, progression, and successful transition to and throughout their University experience. Grounded in the values of respect, integrity, accountability, and inclusivity, the team ensures that every student, whether home or international, feels supported, understood, and empowered throughout their academic journey
As a Student Success Assistant, you will play a key role in providing proactive and respectful support to students facing a range of challenges such as low engagement, understanding the implications of resits, plagiarism panel outcomes, extenuating Circumstances submissions, interruptions to study, and withdrawal requests. With support from your Line Manager, you will use data and analytics to identify and engage individual students and groups who may benefit from timely intervention. Through this approach, the role helps ensure all students are equipped to achieve their potential and succeed at UWS
As a responsive resource, the role will also support the wider work of the Student Success Hub during peak periods, collaborating respectfully and constructively with colleagues. The postholder will contribute to the work of the Student Hub Assistants at busy times of the year, with full training and support provided.
The successful candidate should have the following:
- Relevant HNC or SVQ level 3 or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a customer service/customer facing role in a highly customer focussed environment, preferably in FE or HE.
- Administration experience.
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Good organisational/administration skills with the ability to effectively prioritise tasks and manage own time
- Highly effective communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to present information to different groups appropriately.
- An understanding and awareness of confidentiality issues and.
- Understanding of IT systems used to support excellent customer service.
