Assistant Management Accountant
Description
Campbell Grove Talent are working exclusively with a brilliant business based in York. Well-known, well-respected, and the kind of place that attracts good people. We're looking for an Assistant Management Accountant to join their finance team on a 12-month fixed term contract.
It's a big business with a lot going on and a finance function that genuinely must work hard. If you're someone who wants to learn fast and get real exposure to a complex set of accounts, this will do more for your development than most permanent roles would.
What you'll be doing:
As the Assistant Management Accountant, you'll be supporting the management accounts process for the UK operation -getting involved across the full cycle and really understanding what you're doing, not just processing numbers.
Day-to-day you'll be getting stuck into:
- Supporting the preparation of UK management accounts
- Journals, prepayments and accruals
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- P&L - understanding it, supporting it, owning parts of it
- Expenses and credit card processing
- Responding to queries from across the business and building relationships outside of finance
- Customer payments and responding to customer queries
What you'll need:
- You'll be part-qualified (AAT, ACCA, CIMA) or qualified by experience, someone who's built their skills on the job and can demonstrate it. Either works here.
- Any background in retail finance would be a bonus but not essential. The business moves quickly and the accounts reflect that pace.
- More than anything, they want someone with a good attitude, a willingness to get stuck in, and the ability to start by 1st April at the latest.
This isn't a role where you'll be left to figure things out alone. But it is one where you'll be expected to show up, engage, and take ownership of your work.
Location:
Based on site in York for the most part, with some flexibility around hours and scope for the occasional day at home. The team works best face to face; it's a collaborative environment and a genuinely enjoyable place to spend your working week.
