IT Operations Manager

Role: IT Operations Manager (Contract) Start: ASAP Security Clearance: SC (must be eligible) IR35 Status: Inside IR35 Duration: 6 to 9 months Rate: Up to £450 per day Location: On site 5 days per week in Abingdon, Oxfordshire Team Size: Managing 1 to 3 people

Overview Our client are looking for an IT Operations Manager for a public sector end client. They are looking for an experienced IT Operations Manager to take ownership of day to day IT service delivery and operational support.

This is a hands-on management role, suited to someone who is comfortable leading a small team while remaining technically involved. You will oversee joiner mover leaver processes, access management, call management and ITSM operations, ensuring services are delivered to a high standard in a secure environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day to day IT operations and service delivery
• Line manage a small on site IT operations team
• Oversee joiner mover leaver processes and access requests
• Manage access requirements and account administration
• Administer Microsoft Entra and associated identity services
• Own ITSM processes using Ivanti Neurons
• Manage add ons and service configurations
• Oversee call management and incident handling
• Act as an escalation point for technical and service issues
• Maintain documentation and operational runbooks
• Ensure compliance with security and operational standards

Essential Skills and Experience

• Strong background in IT operations and system administration
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Entra
• Extensive experience of joiner mover leaver processes
• Strong working knowledge of Ivanti Neurons ITSM
• Experience managing access requests and account provisioning
• Experience overseeing call management and incident processes
• Previous experience managing small technical teams
• Comfortable in a hands-on role and willing to roll up sleeves
• Active SC security clearance
