Duration: Mid March until end of December Salary: £40,000–£42,500 per annum Working pattern: Full time, fully onsite Sector: Niche SME business
I am supporting a successful and fast-paced SME who are seeking an experienced Finance Manager to cover a maternity leave period. This is a hands-on role within a busy environment, ideal for someone who enjoys variety, ownership, and being close to the operational detail.
The Role
As Finance Manager, you will take full responsibility for the day-to-day running of the finance function, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting. Key duties include:
- Reviewing and approving invoices and bills processed by the Accounts Administrator
- Preparing cost estimates and quotes in line with internal procedures
- Maintaining monthly management accounts
- Producing financial reporting, including maintaining financial and sales forecasting
- Managing and monitoring cash flow
- Loading and preparing payments for approval
- Completing bank reconciliations (Xero)
- Actioning payroll requirements and liaising with the external accountant
This role is critical to keeping the business running smoothly during a period of change, and although the job description may look concise, it is a busy, hands-on position where your ability to multitask XXXX XXXX control will really matter.
About You
We are looking for an experienced finance professional with:
- Strong background in SME finance
- Solid management accounts experience
- Confident use of Xero (or similar cloud-based systems)
- Strong organisational skills and a proactive, “roll-your-sleeves-up” approach
- Ability to work fully onsite within a fast-moving business
