Commercial Accountant

Hybrid working is the norm (2 days in the office, the rest is up to you), and you’ll join a close-knit finance team where your ideas matter. This is a 12-month fixed-term contract, with a strong likelihood of going permanent.

Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will be responsible for:

• Partnering with directors and senior stakeholders to provide commercial insight and recommendations
• Posting journals and analysing monthly performance
• Leading conversations on actuals vs budget and forecast
• Managing P&L and balance sheet reconciliations
• Handling accruals, audit support, forecasting, and budgeting
• Picking up ad hoc projects from the CFO/FD

What you will need:

• Previous experience in a finance role (Assistant Accountant, Assistant Management Accountant, Management Accountant, Commercial Accountant, Finance Assistant, Finance Officer, Accounts Assistant)
• Confidence to advise and challenge senior stakeholders
• you’ll be the finance expert in the room
• A progressive mindset and appetite to learn
• Started (or keen to start) CIMA, ACCA, or AAT (not essential, but a bonus)
• Comfortable with Excel (Vlookups, pivots
• or willing to pick it up quickly)
• Business partnering experience or the drive to develop it
