Design Technology Teacher (Engineering & Metalwork) - Full Time

Location: Hertfordshire | Start Date: ASAP

Quantum Scholars are working with a thriving secondary school in Hertfordshire to recruit a qualified, full-time Design Technology Teacher to start as soon as possible. This is a long-term position running until the end of the academic year, with a strong potential to become permanent for the right candidate.

The school is a well-established and forward-thinking secondary setting with a strong focus on academic achievement, innovation, and student development. The ideal candidate will have a specialism in Engineering and Metalwork, with a passion for delivering engaging and practical lessons that inspire students.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Experience teaching Design Technology at secondary level
  • Specialism in Engineering and/or Metalwork
  • Strong classroom management skills
  • Ability to plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality Design Technology lessons
  • Teach Engineering and Metalwork in line with the national curriculum
  • Assess, monitor, and track student progress
  • Maintain a safe and well-organised workshop environment
  • Work collaboratively with the department and wider school team
  • Support pupils' academic and personal development
