L5 Specialist Dyslexia Tutors (Primary and Secondary)

Location: Horsham, wider Sussex, and the Brighton & Hove areas (Must be Face to Face)

Rate: £45.00–£48.00 per hour (based on experience and qualifications

We are seeking experienced, self-employed Level 5 Specialist Dyslexia Teachers to deliver high-quality, in-person tuition to children and young people across Horsham, wider Sussex, and the Brighton & Hove areas.

This role would suit a specialist teacher who is deeply knowledgeable, child-centred, and values working within a professionally led, supportive agency that prioritises quality, safeguarding, and outcomes over volume.

About Us

Elite Tutors Sussex is a specialist tutoring and education consultancy led by qualified teachers and SENDCos. We work closely with families, schools, and local authorities to support students with diverse learning profiles, including dyslexia, SEND, SEMH, anxiety, and complex needs.

We take a person-centred, holistic approach and actively support our tutors through clear communication, professional guidance, safeguarding oversight, and high-quality CPD. Many tutors tell us that working with Elite feels fundamentally different from other agencies.

We are not a volume-based agency. As a SENCO-led, relationship-driven organisation, we are intentionally selective and ensure our tutors are supported, known, and valued as professionals. We are well regarded locally for our expertise, advice, and the quality of dyslexia specialists we work with.

Who We’re Looking For

If you are a qualified L5 dyslexia teacher or a qualified teacher with experience supporting students with specific learning difficulties and you love creating engaging, multi-sensory lessons, and you have:

• Experience working with SEND beyond dyslexia (e.g. ADHD, anxiety)
• Familiarity with exam access arrangements and assessment processes
• Experience liaising with schools, SENCOs, or external professionals
• Passionate, flexible, and creative teachers
• Tutors able to offer in-person sessions in Horsham, wider Sussex, and the Brighton & Hove areas.
• UK residents happy to complete an Enhanced DBS check

You Must have

• Level 5 Specialist Dyslexia Qualification (or equivalent)
• Specialist teaching experience
• Strong understanding of dyslexia, SpLDs, and inclusive teaching strategies
• Experience working 1:1 with children or young people
• Confident delivering in-person tuition in family homes or agreed settings
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
• Professional, reflective, and child-centred approach
