Job Description - The Role

The Third Party Risk Officer role is part of a newly established team in Finance, where you will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing the overall framework for Third Party Risk Management & Outsourcing (TPRMO) within the Finance function at M&G. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual with a risk-focused mindset to deliver tangible results in a key area of our risk and control framework. The individual will support the delivery of the TPRMO programme by conducting risk assessments, monitoring third-party relationships, and ensuring compliance with internal and external standards.

Key Accountabilities ; What you'll do:

  • Risk Assessment: Provide support and assist in completing due diligence and ongoing monitoring of third-party vendors across the function, including financial stability and security practices. Review existing arrangements, analyse and assess against best practice guidelines and help drive coordination and delivery of proposed enhancements.
  • Compliance Monitoring: Ensure adherence to Third Party Risk Management & Outsourcing Policy and Standards and regulatory requirements throughout the vendor lifecycle, maintaining a strong understanding of the policy, including practical application within the Finance function, annual compliance reviews and associated reporting into second-line risk forums.
  • Oversight Controls: Deliver and maintain oversight controls, including: exit plan reviews, service inventory reviews, SOC report reviews, ongoing performance and service reviews.
  • Reporting: Maintain accurate records of risk assessments, assist in tracking of key metrics in the Finance function Supplier Risk Management process, including developing appropriate dashboards for reporting to senior stakeholders and relevant governance forums.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with key business areas including procurement, legal, compliance, and information security teams to mitigate risks.
  • Ongoing Monitoring and Incident Support: Monitor and analyse supplier performance trends, escalating recurring issues and supporting deep dives where needed, and assist in managing third-party incidents and remediation activities. Represent Finance in in relevant Third Party Risk governance forums and committees, providing updates and insights as required.
  • Training and Guidance: Provide training and guidance to Finance teams as required to support ongoing compliance with the TPRMO Policy.

The skills you'll need:

  • Experience in Third Party Risk Management and vendor governance, ideally within Financial Services.
  • Technical Skills: Knowledge of TPRMO frameworks, risk assessment methodologies, and regulatory expectations.
  • Soft Skills: Analytical thinking, attention to detail, and strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration to build effective relationships across internal and external contacts.
  • Clear and confident communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex issues to various audiences.
