Software Conversion Project Manager - UK Life Tax

Role: Software Conversion Project Manager Location: London or Edinburgh (Hybrid Working Options Available) Contract Duration: 6 Months Daily Rate: Up to £700 per day (via Umbrella Company) The Opportunity A leading global financial institution is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead a critical software conversion project within its UK funds division. This is a high-profile, full-time contract role starting in mid-January 2026, focused on onboarding a new, third-party technology platform across a portfolio of associated funds and clients. Key Responsibilities ? Lead and project manage all delivery phases, including requirements gathering, planning, data configuration, testing, and final implementation. ? Manage a detailed project plan, ensuring timely delivery and clear escalation of any barriers or delays to senior management. ? Manage all client communications, including presenting and discussing the conversion plan, timings, and providing regular progress updates. ? Oversee data configuration and take-on activities, including strong data analytics skills to compare, reconcile, and validate outputs from the legacy system to the new platform. ? Lead and manage a small test team, coordinating testing efforts across multiple locations. ? Ensure all project communications are accurate, professional, and concise for both internal and external stakeholders. Essential ? Proven, strong project management expertise, with an ability to create and manage a detailed plan for a complex delivery. ? Previous, demonstrable experience in migrating fund data to a new 3rd party platform is essential. ? Exceptional communication and presentation skills (written and verbal), with experience engaging directly with clients and senior stakeholders on project progress. ? Strong people-management and organisational skills. Desirable/Alternative ? Knowledge of UK Life funds tax, including relevant capital gains tax rules (e.g., deemed disposal spreading). ? Candidates with strong fund pricing and NAV calculations experience will also be strongly considered. ? Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or equivalent.
