SEMH Teaching Assistant

Project-Based

Description

Are you driven to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and young people with complex learning needs?

SparkEd Recruitment is partnering with a welcoming and forward-thinking school in the Cornwall area to recruit Behaviour Support Assistants to work across Key Stages 3 and 4. You will support students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

SEMH needs may include: Challenging behaviour, anxiety, depression, and trauma.

We welcome applications from candidates with a wide range of experience. While previous experience supporting children with challenging behaviour is beneficial, it is not essential due to the supportive nature of the role.

Who We’re Looking For:

  • A flexible, enthusiastic individual with a genuine passion for supporting children with special educational needs.
  • No prior school experience is required — comprehensive online training will be provided.
  • Graduates or applicants with transferable skills from areas such as childcare, psychology, youth work, or social care are strongly encouraged to apply.
  • Someone with the patience, resilience, and commitment to support pupils with complex needs, including Autism and ADHD.

What’s in It for You:

  • Competitive pay rates that reflect your skills and dedication.
  • Wellbeing support to help maintain a healthy work–life balance.
  • 24/7 access to a dedicated personal consultant for ongoing guidance and support.
  • Continuous training opportunities to develop your knowledge and expertise.
  • A supportive and rewarding environment where you can grow professionally and make a lasting impact in education.
