- Daily Rate: £400 per day
The role of Interim National Projects Manager is crucial for managing a portfolio of commercially focused projects and developing Treasury Green Book business cases, ensuring the adaptability and sustainability of our organisation in championing historic places.
Day-to-Day of the Role:
- Manage the planning and startup of various projects, focusing on income generation and commercial viability.
- Utilize project and programme management tools and controls for project initiation, design, progress monitoring, risk and issue management, and stakeholder communication.
- Develop effective working relationships across departments to ensure seamless project management.
- Collaborate with Public Engagement, Policy and Evidence, and Corporate Services Groups to ensure effective internal and external communication of projects.
- Support the Head of Major Projects in developing and implementing additional projects and programmes, demonstrating entrepreneurial and agile approaches to new work requests.
- Participate actively in Project Boards and Working Groups, offering innovative solutions and managing project delivery and reporting.
- Work closely with the analytics department to integrate evaluation into projects, including post-project analysis and lessons learned.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Demonstrable experience in planning, delivery, and closure of multiple concurrent projects using recognised methodologies (e.g., Prince2, APM PMQ, Agile).
- Strong commercial acumen with experience in developing commercial strategies and negotiating contracts.
- Experience in contributing to Treasury Green Book business cases.
- Proven budget management skills and experience in procurement and contract management, including risk management.
- Excellent digital skills, particularly with Microsoft 365.
- Exceptional communication skills, capable of clearly presenting data and conclusions.
- Strategic thinking with the ability to identify interdependencies between projects.
- Effective ICT skills across common applications.
