£70000 - £75000

We are supporting an organisation within the financial services sector to appoint an experienced People & Operations Partner on a 14-month maternity cover contract, starting as soon as possible.

This is a broad, hands-on generalist role suited to an HR professional who enjoys partnering closely with senior stakeholders, supporting managers, and operating across the full employee lifecycle.

About the Role

Reporting into the Chief People Officer, the People and Operations Partner will support the day-to-day management of the People function, providing pragmatic and proactive HR partnering across the business. You will work closely with leaders and line managers to ensure consistent application of policies, effective people practices, and a strong organisational culture.

This role offers excellent exposure across a varied remit and would suit someone comfortable operating at pace and across all levels of an organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with senior leaders and line managers to deliver a proactive, commercial people strategy aligned to business objectives
  • Provide consistent HR advice and guidance across all people matters, embedding policies, processes and organisational values
  • Manage end-to-end recruitment activity up to senior level, including advising on recruitment strategies and conducting interviews
  • Lead first-stage Employee Relations matters, including disciplinary, grievance, absence and performance issues
  • Support talent and succession planning processes and associated learning and development activity
  • Manage and deliver ad-hoc people projects, identifying risks and coaching stakeholders as required
  • Ensure changes in employment legislation are effectively implemented and communicated
  • Support annual remuneration review and reward processes
  • Partner on wellbeing and employee engagement initiatives
  • Work closely with HR Operations and Payroll to support monthly payroll sign-off and wider operational requirements

About You

You will be an experienced HR generalist who thrives in a partnering role and enjoys building strong relationships across the business.

You will demonstrate:

  • Proven people partnering experience, ideally within financial services or a regulated environment
  • Solid Employee Relations experience, including complex casework
  • Good working knowledge of UK employment law, with the confidence to flag legal risk
  • Strong influencing and coaching skills with the ability to challenge constructively
  • Excellent attention to detail, balancing accuracy with pace
  • Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Word and Excel
  • A proactive, adaptable and commercial mindset

Qualifications

  • CIPD qualified or currently studying (preferred)
  • Degree or Master's in HR or a related discipline (desirable but not essential)
