Oldham Council is seeking a compassionate and experienced Social Worker to join its Children with Disabilities (CWD) Team. The team provides specialist support for children with disabilities, complex health needs, and their families, while also managing safeguarding and child protection cases where necessary.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of children with disabilities and complex needs
- Conduct assessments, care planning, and reviews in line with Children's Social Care legislation
- Attend Child Protection Conferences, statutory reviews, and multi-agency meetings
- Provide guidance, support, and advocacy for children and families
- Collaborate with internal and external agencies, including SEN and health colleagues, to deliver integrated support
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records and documentation
- Ensure safeguarding standards are consistently met and embedded in practice
Requirements
- Qualified Social Worker - Degree/Diploma in Social Work
- Social Work England registration
- Experience working with children with disabilities, complex health needs, or safeguarding cases
- Knowledge of Care Planning, Fostering Regulations, and child protection legislation
- Excellent communication, assessment, and report-writing skills
- Ability to manage a complex caseload while maintaining high-quality practice standards
- Strong multi-agency collaboration skills and commitment to positive outcomes for children and families
