- Responsible for: Human Resources Team
I am recruiting for a dedicated Head of People to manage and lead their Human Resources team. This role is pivotal in supporting the organisation's vision and mission by providing an effective and efficient HR service. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to lead key projects, develop the HR team, and occasionally deputise for the Director of People.
Job Purpose:
- Manage the organisation's recruitment and selection processes to ensure a skilled and experienced workforce.
- Ensure all personnel records are secure, accurate, and complete, complying with legal requirements and meeting the information demands of external bodies.
- Update HR policies in accordance with employment legislation and internal changes.
- Develop and manage the HR system's effectiveness.
- Provide high-level HR input in complex disciplinary, capability, and grievance matters.
- Lead and manage the HR team, promoting high standards in all activities.
- Contribute to the management team, supporting corporate endeavours to achieve success.
- Manage and develop service delivery quality, efficiency, and effectiveness.
- Support the development of new initiatives to ensure a high-quality support service.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- CIPD Qualified or an equivalent qualification; Graduate/Chartered membership of the CIPD is desirable.
- Significant generalist HR experience, with an emphasis on Employee Relations casework.
- Experience providing advice and guidance on HR policies and employment law.
- Proven ability to manage conflict within a team.
- Competency in using/managing computerised HR systems and a good understanding of IT within an HR function.
- Strong leadership skills that command respect and motivate others.
- Excellent communication, external liaison, and networking skills.
- Ability to manage budgets and meet financial targets.
