What you'll be doing: As Purchasing Manager, you’ll be responsible for ensuring the availability of raw materials and packaging to meet production demands. You’ll manage procurement processes, supplier relationships, and performance metrics, while contributing to strategic decisions that support operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee MRP systems to ensure material availability.
- Manage supplier contracts, pricing structures, and tender processes.
- Resolve invoice queries and collaborate with finance.
- Lead supplier performance reviews and drive continuous improvement.
- Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Line manage a Purchasing Coordinator.
- Participate in planning meetings and support stock takes.
- Uphold health, safety, and food quality standards.
What you need:
Essential:
- Proven experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain.
- Background in manufacturing (preferably FMCG).
- Working towards or holding MCIPS accreditation.
Desirable:
- Experience in food production environments.
- Degree in Purchasing, Supply Chain, or related field.
