£40,000 annually (Pro-rata)

Full-Time, hybrid working (3 days WFH)

Reed Accountancy Glasgow is delighted to be partnering with a market leading company, and one of the UK’s top employers, in their search for a Payroll Officer on a 9 month fixed term contract.

The main purpose of the role will be to process accurate and timely payroll for 3000+ employees across multiple regions, including manual calculations, monthly reporting, parallel runs, and ensuring strict compliance to payroll legislation.

Offering a highly competitive salary of £40,000 annually (pro-rata) and wealth of benefits for the duration for the 9-month contract, this opportunity would be ideal for an experienced payroller with knowledge of high-volume, international payroll and system implementation.

The main duties of this role will be:

  • Processing full multi-region payroll cycle, utilising manual calculations where necessary
  • Administering benefit system to employees
  • Overseeing expense payments and processing
  • Assisting with system implementation, including processing parallel runs
  • Managing the payroll system daily
  • Producing month end payroll reports for senior finance, HR, and stakeholders
  • Acting as first point of contact for complex payroll queries
  • Liaising closely with HR and senior stakeholders on payroll and benefit policy
  • Ensuring full compliance with payroll and benefit legislation

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Previous experience in a senior payroll position overseeing around 3000 employees
  • The ability to complete manual payroll processing and parallel runs
  • A comprehensive understanding of payroll, pension, benefit, and taxation law in the UK
  • Strong expertise in IT and accounting/payroll software
  • Excellent communication and problem solving skills
