SparkEd Recruitment is partnering with a welcoming and forward-thinking school in the Exeter area to recruit Behaviour Support Assistants to work across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. You will be supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), with a particular focus on Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

SEMH needs may include:

  • Challenging behaviour
  • Anxiety and depression
  • Trauma-related difficulties

We welcome applications from candidates with a range of experience. While previous experience supporting young people with challenging behaviour is advantageous, it is not essential.

About You

  • A flexible, enthusiastic approach and a genuine passion for supporting children with special educational needs
  • No prior school-based experience required — comprehensive online training will be provided
  • Graduates and individuals with transferable experience in childcare, psychology, youth work, or social care are encouraged to apply
  • The patience, resilience, and commitment needed to support pupils with complex needs, including Autism and ADHD
