English Teacher - Upper School & Sixth Form (Hertfordshire)

Quantum Scholars are delighted to be working in partnership with a welcoming and well-regarded upper school and sixth form in Hertfordshire, who are seeking a qualified English Teacher to join their team immediately.

This role is initially available until February half-term, with a strong possibility of extension for the right candidate. It is an excellent opportunity for a passionate English specialist looking to make an immediate impact in a supportive school environment.

The Role

• Teaching English to Year 9 and Year 10 students
• Working Monday-Thursday or full-time (5 days per week), depending on your availability
• Joining a committed and collaborative English department

Due to the school's location, access to your own transport is essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Planning and delivering engaging, high-quality English lessons aligned with the national curriculum
• Inspiring students to develop strong literacy, analytical, and communication skills
• Assessing, tracking, and providing feedback on student progress
• Creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes learning and confidence
• Managing classroom behaviour effectively in line with school policies
• Collaborating with colleagues to support departmental and whole-school objectives

The Ideal Candidate

• Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
• Has experience teaching Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 English
• Is enthusiastic, adaptable, and committed to student success
• Can start immediately and is open to a potentially extended placement
