Tradewind Recruitment is currently working with a specialist SEN school in South Northamptonshire to recruit a Food Technology Teacher to support children and young people with Special Educational Needs, predominantly severe autism.

The Role
- Deliver engaging and accessible Food Technology lessons tailored to pupils with severe autism
- Adapt teaching strategies to meet a wide range of complex needs, including communication and sensory differences
- Support pupils in developing life skills, independence, and confidence through practical learning
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and SEN professionals
- Create a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment
The Ideal Candidate
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or relevant teaching experience
- Experience teaching Food Technology (mainstream or SEN)
- Experience working with SEN, particularly autism, is highly desirable
- Calm, flexible, and empathetic approach to behaviour and learning
- Strong understanding of differentiated teaching and sensory-aware practice
