We are currently working with a South West based City Council on a Director Housing Property Services opportunity.Job: Director Housing Property ServicesDuration: Initial 6 monthsRate: £650 per day via Umbrella Company, Inside IR35Site presence: Hybrid - 3 days onsiteThis is a senior leadership role and as such the purpose, accountability and outcomes are subject to change subject to the requirements of the organisation.To provide high-quality, affordable and energy efficient homes across the councilDeliver sound financial and environmental returns on property and glebe assets, including developments and salesOversee the provision of high-level advice on buildings and land ownership, as required. Provide effective support for those seeking to maintain and/or develop their facilities and/or buildings in support of organisational and community developmentOversee organisational performance monitoring, reporting and business improvement, operating effectively within relevant systems supporting statutory, governance, compliance and legal responsibilitiesOversee the development and implementation of a planned pipeline of sales/purchases and development opportunities in accordance with council corporate and housing business plan objectives and in accordance with relevant legislation and regulationsAct as lead for performance monitoring, reporting and business improvement activities. To ensure that property services teams are accessible, responsive and timely in all dealing to seek to exceed the expectations of our residents and stakeholdersDevelop strategic budgets to deliver the aims of the council over the long term in the key areas of the postholder’s responsibility, delivering the best value for money possibleMaking presentations as required to internal and external stakeholdersRequirements:Local Government experience required for initial shortlisting, then thereafter at the client’s discretionThe post holder will need experience of restructuring, repair & maintenance and Asset StrategyProven leadership, team building, motivational and effective staff management skills through supervision and performance management, with proven ability to lead, support, mentor and coach others and to bring out the best in people, inspiring confidence and respectThorough understanding of risk management and experience of applying it in a project or business context, able to assess and promote risk awareness without being risk averseBe well versed in Law of Property, Housing Legislation, current building regulations with a detailed understanding of the regulatory and legislative framework in which Housing Property Services is required to operateAt Venn Group, we endeavour to respond to all applications.
