About the Role

This is a vital, full-time, long-term supply position covering an extended absence, providing stability and a genuine opportunity to embed yourself within the school community. The role carries the full responsibilities of a permanent teacher, focusing on delivering high-quality, engaging Business Studies lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, and potentially Key Stage 5 depending on experience.

Key Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Recent and proven experience teaching Business Studies at the secondary level (KS3-KS4 minimum)
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
  • Enhanced Child DBS on the updated service (Willingness to apply for one)

Key Skills Required

  • Strong Subject Knowledge: A deep and current understanding of the Business Studies curriculum (e.g., finance, marketing, enterprise).
  • Adaptability and Flexibility: The capacity to quickly adjust teaching methods and plans to suit different classes and settings.
  • Excellent Communication: Clear, articulate, and engaging verbal and written communication with students, staff, and parents.
  • Differentiated Instruction: Skill in tailoring lessons to meet the diverse needs and abilities of all learners.
  • IT Proficiency: Confidence in integrating educational technology and business-related software into lessons.
  • Assessment and Feedback: Expertise in providing timely, constructive, and developmental feedback to drive student progress.

Core Responsibilities

  • Planning and delivering innovative, engaging Business Studies lessons tailored to the curriculum.
  • Assessing, recording, and reporting on the development, progress, and attainment of students.
  • Upholding the academy's high expectations for student behaviour and achievement.
  • Setting and marking work, including examinations, and providing constructive feedback.
  • Contributing to the development of departmental resources and curriculum content.
  • Participating in school duties, staff meetings, and professional development activities as required for a long-term placement.
  • Monitoring and tracking student progress, implementing effective intervention strategies where necessary.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of student attendance and progress.
  • Communicating effectively with parents/carers regarding student performance and well-being.
  • Promoting an inclusive and supportive learning culture where all students feel valued.
