The analytical service meets the requirements of the ISO 17025 - General Requirements for the Competence of Testing and Calibration Laboratories and is also United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) accredited.The Scientist is an experienced Scientist who is adept in all aspects of the work undertaken with some specialist skills as well as working as part of a team, supporting efficient workflow and reporting of results.Troubleshooting, problem solving and workload planning are essential outputs of this role.Participation in activities necessary for the efficient operation of an analytical production laboratory, attain competency under a continuing professional development process, Improvements in technical working practices, supporting investigation of anomalous results under analytical quality control, support implementation of new equipment/improved techniques from own team, support ongoing workloads and projects within Scientific Services, best practice integration and continuous improvement, initiate equipment maintenance and repairThe role requires a flexible approach to working hours including some cover for weekend/Bank Holiday's and emergency standby/call out.
