This role will play a key part in stabilising legacy environments, improving operational processes, and helping plan the transition towards Azure.What you’ll doProvide hands-on support across a multi-version Windows Server estate (2003–2019)Lead discovery work across servers and environments to understand ownership, configuration, and required improvementsCarry out day-to-day server administration and desktop support across Cheltenham sitesContribute to planning activities for server migrations, including on-prem and AzureEstablish foundational processes and documentation for long-term supportManage contract renewals and support agreements relating to the infrastructureYou’ll work closely with technical teams, on-site operations, and external suppliers to stabilise legacy services and define a clearer, more efficient support model.What we’re looking forStrong experience with on-prem Windows Server (including legacy versions)Background in server administration, troubleshooting, and maintenanceAbility to assess existing infrastructure and recommend improvementsExperience supporting desktop environments in a mixed estateUnderstanding of Azure migrations or hybrid-cloud planningThe ideal candidate will be proactive, structured, and comfortable working in a mixed legacy environment while helping drive modernisation.
