- Children & EducationLocation:Newcastle-upon-TynePay:£14.55 per hourContract:Full-time 37 hours (Mon-Fri), 12-week contract (with strong potential to go permanent)Make a real difference in your community!This is an amazing opportunity for a passionate Project Worker to join an established team supporting children who may be at risk of school exclusion or be excluded. Based in an office in Newcastle, you’ll also have the added benefit of working in the community, family homes and schools—helping children and families overcome challenges and achieve positive outcomes.In this fantastic role, you’ll have the chance to develop new skills while building on your existing experience, all while making a meaningful difference in your community. You’ll work directly with children who are excluded from school or at risk of exclusion, helping them overcome barriers to learning and reach their full potential. Working directly with them, their family and school, you’ll build trusting relationships and collaborate to create positive changeWhat’s in it for you?Opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of children and young people.Consistent work schedule with no weekends or evenings required.Holiday pay.Refer a friend scheme.Ongoing employment support from a Newcastle-based Reed consultant.Paid expenses for milage.Work within a supportive and collaborative environment.Professional development opportunities with potential for permanent placement with the company.Join a well-established programme running for 4+ years.Manage your own caseload.Access excellent benefits and training opportunities.Day-to-day of the role:Support children and families through tailored interventionsApply safeguarding and child protection procedures with care and confidence, reporting concerns promptly when needed.Oversee resources for service delivery, from equipment to accurate case recording.Collaborate with professionals across children’s services, health agencies, and community organizations to provide joined-up, effective support.Accurately and clearly record case notes deploying the necessary standard of writing and IT skills.Working with other professionals and of challenging professional judgements as appropriate.Staff supervision.Skills and Qualifications:UK experience working directly with children.Full UK driving license and own transport.NVQ Level 3 or above.Experience working in the community is an advantage.Knowledge of safeguarding, child protection and promoting the welfare of children.Strong communication and problem-solving skills.Ability to write complex reports and produce other management information
