ARE YOU AN ASPIRING OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST?We are looking for a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to support children with special educational needs (SEN) and associated challenging behaviours. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will have the opportunity to get relevant practical experience, enabling you to expand your knowledge and skillset, which is invaluable to you as an aspiring Occupational Therapist.It is vital that you are sincere about your objectives and know why you want to work in this sector, ultimately providing the best possible outcomes for vulnerable students who have experienced adverse childhood experiences, trauma and have been tragically let down by the adult world. You must also be committed to providing consistency for these children. These roles are not easy and it can take months to build foundations with vulnerable students.Personal Qualities:Passionate about helping children to achieve their full potentialAble to build confidence and motivationAbility to build robust and effective relationships with studentsAbility to remain calm and resilient when placed in situations of stress or conflictCaring, compassionate, and a good listenerProfessional Skills & Requirements:Ability to prepare resources for teaching and learning activitiesAbility to plan learning activities to suit pupil ability with support from a teacherWilling to work 1:1 and in small groups with studentsAble to develop knowledge and experience to deliver appropriate supportAble to encourage the development of social skills and support students' individual needsExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsAble to provide behaviour and pastoral supportAttend staff meetings and complete appropriate CPDEnsure safeguarding of students5 days a week (Mon-Fri) & £90-£100 per dayNo previous experience is requiredExcellent on-site training, support and CPD is providedYou MUST have right to work in the UK in order to apply - no Visa sponsorship*Alternatively, if this job is not for you then please still get in touch with us for other roles or refer it to a friend who might be interested in this role!*Term Time Teachers are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, therefore all applicants will be subject to a full face-to-face registration and an Enhanced DBS (Formerly known as CRB).
