Finance Manager- 6-9 Mos FTC | Preston | 3 days/week | £50k-£60k FTEAre you an immediately available Finance Manager with an SME or education background and a bit of a whizz when it comes to Sage? Looking for a part-time interim role in the North West?We're supporting a respected school in the Preston area that's looking for an interim Finance Manager to join them for 6-9 months and bring some stability and structure to their finance function during a period of transition.They now need a qualified accountant who can step in quickly, take ownership of the accounts, and support the Bursar in keeping everything compliant and running smoothly.The Role- Reporting to the Bursar, you'll manage a small team (2-3 staff covering purchase ledger and bank reconciliations) and take responsibility for:- Monthly management and statutory accounts- Daily and weekly cashflow management- Overseeing invoicing, credit control, and parental fee queries- VAT compliance and Sage reporting- Providing structure, oversight, and support across the finance function- It's a hands-on role that needs someone experienced, practical, and ready to hit the ground running.What They're Looking For- Qualified Accountant (CIMA / ACCA / ACA)- Experience in education or SME environments (turnover c.£10-11m)- Strong Sage 50 knowledge (essential)- Comfortable managing small teams and working closely with non-finance stakeholders- A "safe pair of hands" who can start quickly and bring immediate valueThe Details- Location: Preston area (on-site 3 days per week, some flexibility during school holidays)- Salary: £50-60k FTE- Contract: 6-9 month FTC (initial 3 months with view to extend)- Hours: 37.5 hours per week (flexible on start and end time- core hours 9am-3pm)- Parking: Free on-site- Start: ASAPThis role suits someone who enjoys a varied position, is confident managing people and processes, and can bring calm, competence, and continuity to a busy finance team.If that sounds like you, hit and one of the team will be in touch.
