Your new role We invite you to bring your expertise in Environmental, Health & Safety consulting into play as a Senior Managing Consultant at our firm. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to the continued successful growth of our strategic Environmental, Health & Safety risk management services across broad Client sectors and geographies. The position requires a professional skilled at nurturing and managing client relationships, leading projects and teams, strategy planning and business development, and directly contributing to the delivery of high-quality Client EHS consultant services. You will collaborate closely with clients, project managers, and stakeholders to develop and implement effective health and safety solutions. This is a leadership role supporting the growth of Ramboll’s Canadian Business Unit and as such, a primary responsibility will be in recruiting talented resources and growing a portfolio of work supporting clients directly and internal project involvement. This will be supported by the existing business unit in Canada as well as the extensive network of Health and Safety, and environmental consulting professionals in the USA and Europe. Your key responsibilities will be: Client and Project Management: Successfully develop and manage clients/projects across broad sectors, ensuring excellent service delivery. Technical and Strategic Service Delivery: Provide broad Health & Safety services at strategic and operational levels within Client organizations. Advisory Support: Provide EHS advice and support to Client stakeholders, aligned with your technical expertise and those of the wider team. Business Development: Lead and support business development initiatives, create service strategies, market/client initiatives, raising profile of our consulting services and leading client care programs. Authoring Proposals: Development of tailored EHS proposals to meet Client stakeholder objectives, including technical methodologies, project management plans, team structure, fee determination, quality management, terms and value-added aspects. Project Management: Oversee planning and management of projects, teams, and client stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes (client satisfaction, write ups, team development, retained services, quality management, etc). Team Leadership: Participate, manage and mentor Canada’s EHS consultant team, fostering professional growth and ensuring high performance. Financial Management: Achieve personal target of net revenue generation per year, aligned to wider business financial targets. Quality Assurance: Conduct QA/QC checks on relevant work products to maintain high standards. Operational Support: Support the wider consulting business operations and initiatives, contributing to overall business success. International Focus: Lead and participate in overseas business development, bids and projects, with occasional overnight stays and international travel. These include: Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health, Engineering, or a related field Minimum of 10 years of experience in environmental, health and safety consulting, with a strong background in the engineering and construction industries In-depth knowledge of Canadian health and safety regulations and standards Proven track record of successfully managing health and safety programs and projects Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capability to interact effectively with clients and team members Ability to work independently and as part of a team Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software Well-organized, diligent, and proactive. Confident and assertive with strong commercial awareness. IT literate with the ability to learn and use various data platforms quickly. Flexible with the ability to prioritize and manage workload effectively. Strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to continual improvement.
